Editorial policy
Select Running Journal aims for clear, careful writing about recreational running and its culture. Accuracy matters even when a subject is light: readers should be able to tell what a piece explains, what it suggests and where uncertainty remains.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, terms and factual details against suitable sources before publication, and prefer plain explanations over confident-sounding guesses. Where a subject has competing interpretations, we make that clear rather than presenting one account as settled fact.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and we do not present a product or service as independently endorsed because it has a partnership with the publication.
Corrections
If you spot an error or unclear passage, please use the Contact page and explain what needs checking. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored articles and partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrations rather than documentary images.
